Lexi Crockett

My piece is a journey of self-love. I’ve always liked self-portraits simply because I feel I can have the most control over what I produce, but the hardest part is taking photos where I feel confident. In this process I often find myself taking way too many photos because of my own harsh self-criticism. With this project focused on creating more self-portraits, I decided to highlight the uncomfortableness rather than trying to hide it. I took these photos in outfits that I am normally uncomfortable in and often wear to give myself the challenge of taking a photo where I am happy with the results. Overall, this piece is meant to show that with confidence, you can still feel beautiful even when you’re not inherently comfortable.
